Built from the gap between travel advice and real life

A Note from the Founder

I'm Apollo. Six years ago, I moved halfway across the world and discovered something I hadn't expected. Traveling wasn't the hard part. Living somewhere new was. Finding a SIM card at midnight in Moscow. Understanding visa requirements that didn't exist in English. Figuring out which advice online was still accurate — and which had been outdated for years.

That's why I built Sunburnt Atlas. This isn't a travel blog designed to convince you to visit Southeast Asia. It's a practical guide for people who already decided to go — whether you're here for two weeks, relocating for work, or starting over somewhere new. Everything here is free, independent, and built from real experience, careful research, and a commitment to keeping information honest and current.

You've already made the decision. Let's make sure you're ready for it.

Most travel stress comes from not knowing what you're walking into. We're here to close that gap — so the time you spend out there is spent experiencing, not problem solving.
